 Help welcome Santa to the Strasburg Railroad. Santa's Paradise Express pulls into the station Thanksgiving weekend starting November 26th. Join Santa on his journey to spread the magic of the season to thousands of  families who believe. This year the Santa Express will chug into the station on November 26-28, and December 4,5,11,12,18 and 19.

The celebration begins on the platform of East Strasburg Station as the sounds of the season fill the air. Relax as an authentic vintage steam train, warmed by a pot belly stove, takes passengers on a 45 minute ride, traveling past more than 1,00 acres of picturesque farmland on it's way to Paradise, Pa. Santa, carolers, and musicians will stroll from car to car being greeting and entertaining the families.

After the train ride, the children are greeted to story book readings of the holiday classics at the station. Families can also enjoy the Tinsel Trolley ride which will operate throughout the event and is included in the ticket price. The Tinsel Trolley is Strasburg's own L.O & S self propelled motor car. The restore 1915 Lancaster, Oxford and Southern Railcar was originally used on a 3 foot gauge track in Southern Lancaster. Finally, as a special treat children ages 3-11 will receive a special gift from Santa and his helper.

Ahhh....The Strasburg Railroad, my kids have grown up there, as we have gone almost every October since my son turned 1 1/2. And since they talk, eat, and breath Thomas the Train, it's become one of our favorite places to go. If you haven't been to their Day Out with Thomas events, its fun and memorable for the entire family. And trust me, there is nothing like the expression on yours child's face when he hears the horn blow and looks to see Thomas the Train roll into the station. I almost get giddy. It's amazing train ride through the rolling farms of Amish country doesn't go without recognition, The Strasburg Railroad was recently voted Top Ten Train rides for Fall by USA Today.
